Environmental Medicine

Environmental medicine is the study of how our environment affects our health. In naturopathic medicine our principles guide us to always treat the foundations of health first and foremost, these include basic tenants of health such as clean water, nutritious & adequate food, clean air, shelter, meaningful relationships, exercise, sleep, and so on. The health of the environment we live in, and how our environment affects us is paramount to treating the foundations of health. Through environmental medicine we can recognize the health of one's home, water supply, local air quality, food quality, and many other impacts in our daily life on our health. Environmental medicine also includes more concentrated and dangerous exposure such as lead poisoning, workplace chemical exposures, mold contamination.
